I grew up isolated and have had to spend countless years trying to undo the damage by now creating relationships with others. Sadly, due to all the isolation I now find relationships scary and difficult and often traumatic, something that just makes me want to return to isolation. It takes a lot of holding myself in my own arms to get me back out on the battlefield each day. I wish to God I could go back, do my life over, and grow up with people. So terribly, terribly true.
